Earlier this year, over 266 people in five southern states ––Louisiana, North Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi–– contracted norovirus after eating oysters farmed off the coast of New Orleans.

We’re Extremely Careful with Our Oysters.
At Mare, serving oysters is our thing. It’s why we’re dedicated to making sure every order is prepared to the highest standard. Each morning, we carefully scrub and remove any grime from the oysters that may have collected on its way to us. Once they’re clean, we store all of the oysters in our industrial refrigerators, which are set at 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
