5-Star Reviews for Mare in February

We are always delighted to hear back from our customers. Our goal here in Mare is to give the best experience to our customers. Here are a couple of 5-star reviews left to us by our customers for the month of February.

“Glad we switched! – We are a party of 7 spending the weekend and have cousins from Italy with us. We originally had a reservation at the Union Oyster Bar but on recommendation from our concierge went to Mare instead. We had an 8:00 reservation so we figured we would walk around for a while, but it was COLD, so we figured we would stop in and ask if they could take us early (1 1/2 hours), they quickly got a few tables put together and seated us right away. What was great was that it seemed like The Who,e staff spoke fluent Italian so our cousins felt very comfortable and were able to order without us having to translate.
We started with Fried Calamari, Fried Clams, Zucchini Blossoms stuffed with ricotta and lobster, and a variety of oysters. All very fresh and delicious.
Main courses were 7 Spice Chicken (1/2 chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes), Zuppa di Mare, Lobster Ravioli, Risotto di Mare, Gnocchi Frutti di Mare, Grilliata di Pesce. Everyone really loved their meals, and let me tell you, the portions are so large they are served in serving plates instead of dinner plates! I don’t think anyone was able to finish their whole meal.
We skipped dessert and headed to Mike’s for Cannoli instead.
Dinner for the 7 of us came to about $520, including drinks and coffee.”

“Amazing!!!! They had a fire at a sister restaurant so they were trying to accommodate for the reservations that were let go there. We did have to wait 20 mins past our reservation time, but for an understandable reason. I absolutely loved my gnocchi seafood dish and everyone loved their dish too. I’d say the lobster ravioli was my second favorite! It’s got a fancy vibe, but you don’t need to overdress if you don’t want to. The bonfire is also super cute. Amazing date spot and just generally a great spot to go with a group! Just make a reservation!!”

“Mare is a beautiful experience. The food is fabulous. If you love oysters on the half shell, then you’re in for a real local treat. SO many oysters to select from the surrounding area. Our waitress was so friendly and lovely. She provided a great wine pairing with the risotto dish ordered. Overall, a wonderful experience in the North End.”

“A favorite in Boston. Can’t say enough great things about Mare. The service, food and atmosphere is phenomenal; all while tucked away in the heart of bustling Hanover St.

Ask for the scallops with angel hair pasta. It was taken off the menu but is to die for.”
