5-Star Reviews for Mare in December

Mare wants to thank everyone for a wonderful 2018! As always, we aim to provide our customers with exceptional service and delicious food. Here are a couple of great reviews our customers left us in the month of December:

Nice Venue, super food, fantastic service! – This restaurant is tucked down a short alley with the same name (Mare), and the inside is stylish, broken into interesting spaces and very interesting and attractive.

The dozen and a half choices of oysters are primarily from MA & ME: The Wellfleets are excellent, but honestly the Beach Point, Island Creek, Mookie Blues and Saquish are all very delicious!

All 5 of us had great measles ranging from various kinds of lobster, tuna and cod. Personally, I think the Zucchini Blossoms are a great appetizer or can even substitute as an entree with a side of Wilted Spinach; the Brussels Sprouts (bacon and cranberries) have a delicious sweet sauce and are another super side.

We were seated at a table behind the glass partition, so it was a smaller space with just a half dozen tables making it feel intimate and not too noisy for conversation. There’s also bench seating at a fire pit that was very inviting. There’s a retail food store tucked in behind the fire pit room.

Excellent all round experience!!”

Great service on a busy Friday night, lucky to tin with out a reservation. I had the meat lasagna (pictured). I wasn’t going to do a review but, the layering of the lasagna and the fineness of the meat sauce was unbelievably delicate and delicious. Wife loved her tortellini and daughter finished off the Carbonara. Great meals, reasonably priced. A great bet in the North End.”

“This place is a real gem, tucked away from the bustle of Hannover St off an alley. Oysters, crudo, fish and wine are all remarkable. Love the open fire pits on the terrace, creating great warmth on a frigid night.”

“Went for a pre-Christmas dinner with friends. The food was excellent, service was very efficient without hovering. Not a quick in and out spot – leisurely dining. We plan to go back in the near future.”

“Mare is now my favorite restaurant in Boston! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely to die for!! Pricing is a little on the expensive side, but it’s 100% worth it! Make sure you try the trio crudo and lobster spring rolls for apps. The swordfish was melt-in-your-mouth worthy and the oysters were so fresh!! Can’t wait to come back!”
